Scholarship Details
The Equity and Merit Scholarship is aimed at students who have the potential to contribute significantly to sustainable development in their home countries. It covers:
- Full Tuition Fees
- Living Expenses
- Return International Airfares
- Visa Costs
This scholarship is available to students from selected developing countries in Africa, Asia, and South America, who have an offer to study a master’s course at the University of Manchester’s Global Development Institute (GDI).
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the Equity and Merit Scholarship, you must:
- Offer of Admission: Have an offer to study at the University of Manchester.
- Postgraduate Requirements: Meet the requirements for obtaining a Postgraduate degree at the University.
- Nationality: Be a resident citizen of Ethiopia, Malawi, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, or Zimbabwe.
- Educational Background: Have a bachelor’s degree with an excellent overall grade (typically top 10% of your class).
- Professional Experience: Have at least two years of professional experience related to your chosen field of study (excluding unpaid internships or voluntary work).
- Career Impact: Be committed to returning home and demonstrate potential to make a positive impact in your home country.
- Clear Goals: Have a clear understanding of how studying at Manchester will benefit your career and community.
