Each year, the college provides nearly $100,000 in entrance scholarships alone. Entrance Scholarships
Douglas College offers two primary categories of entrance scholarships for international students enrolling in Fall, Winter, and Summer semesters:
- Douglas International Education Regional Entrance Award
- Award Amount: $1,000 – $2,000
- Eligibility:
- No separate application is necessary. Students are automatically considered for this award upon application to Douglas College.
- Available to students from CIS countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan), Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, East Asia, Southeast Asia, and South Asia (Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal).
- Successful candidates typically have an above-average GPA (B equivalent or higher) and strong English language proficiency test scores (e.g., IELTS 7.0 and above, or equivalent).
- Application Deadline:
- Summer (May): January 31
- Fall (September): May 31
- Winter (January): September 30
- Dr. Guangwei Ouyang International Education Entrance Scholarship
- Award Amount: $2,500
- Eligibility:
- Requires a separate application. Applicants must complete the entrance scholarship form (PDF) and email it along with all supporting documents to Douglas International.
- Must have already applied to Douglas College to be considered.
- Selection is based on previous academic performance and involvement in school, community, and personal development.
- Open to students from all countries.
- Application Deadlines:
- Summer (May): January 31
- Fall (September): May 31

Continuing Student Awards and Scholarships
In addition to entrance scholarships, Douglas College offers several awards for continuing students based on their academic performance and involvement in the college community.
- Douglas College International Returning Student Scholarship
- Award Amount: Varies
- Eligibility:
- Be an international student currently enrolled at Douglas College.
- Enrolled in a minimum of nine (9) credits within any academic program or Faculty.
- Have completed at least 21 credits at Douglas College with a minimum GPA of 3.75.
- Additional Information:
- Students can receive this award a maximum of two times during their studies at Douglas College:
- Once after completing a minimum of 21 credit hours, but fewer than 42 credit hours.
- Once after completing a minimum of 42 credit hours.
- Awarded once per semester.
- No separate application is required; candidates are selected based on eligibility criteria and notified accordingly.
- Students can receive this award a maximum of two times during their studies at Douglas College:

- Continuing Student Global Citizenship Dean Award
- Award Amount: $1,500
- Eligibility:
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 at the time of application.
- Must have completed 21 or more credits at Douglas College.
- Must not have previously received this award.
- Application Process:
- Complete and submit an application by the deadline (start an application to see the deadline).
- Provide two references (one academic, one non-academic).
- Demonstrate outstanding commitment or contribution to the community.
- Show a link between studies and global citizenship, such as pursuit of global competencies through coursework or experiences.
- Additional Information:
- One recipient is chosen from each of Douglas College’s six faculties.

- Eligibility:
- Available to continuing international and domestic students.
- Helps facilitate participation in approved international mobility programs.

- Created to support the recruitment of international student-athletes.
- Covers the difference between international and domestic student tuition fees.
- A maximum of 5 eligible recipients are chosen each academic year.

- This scholarship is intended to support international student-athletes at Douglas College.
