David Sainsbury Scholarships in Global Plant Health 2024
The Sainsbury Laboratory (TSL) at the University of East Anglia (UEA) is pleased to announce the prestigious David Sainsbury Scholarships in Global Plant Health. These scholarships aim to support a limited number of talented students pursuing the MSc in Global Plant Health. For the 2024-25 academic year, TSL offers two types of scholarships: the Full Scholarship and the 35% Fee Scholarship.
David Sainsbury Full MSc Scholarship
Scholarship Value:
- Full tuition fee coverage (£33,150 for 2024-25)
- Maintenance grant (amount to be determined for 2024-25; in 2023-24 it was £18,622)
- An additional £4,000 for travel costs (subject to valid economy class travel receipts)
Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for a full scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Hold an offer of admission to the UEA MSc in Global Plant Health.
- Be a national of or domiciled in a least-developed, low-income, or lower-middle-income country or territory as defined by the Overseas Development Agency Development Assistance Committee (DAC) list, edition 2024-25.
Due to a limited number of scholarships available, applicants are encouraged to apply early as these will be awarded throughout the year.
David Sainsbury 35% Fee Scholarship
Scholarship Value:
- Partial Funding, up to 100% of tuition fees
- Full cost of the tuition fee (£33,150 for 2024-25)
- Maintenance grant (exact value to be determined for 2024-25; in 2023-24 it was £18,622)
- Additional £4,000 for travel costs (subject to valid economy class travel receipts)
- Each 35% fee scholarship will cover up to 35% of the full cost of the tuition fee (35% of either £16,800 UK or £33,150 international fees for 2024-25)
Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for the 35% fee scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Hold an offer of admission to the UEA MSc in Global Plant Health.
- Not be a national of or domiciled in a least-developed, low-income, or lower-middle-income country or territory as defined by the Overseas Development Agency Development Assistance Committee (DAC) list, edition 2024-25. For example, applicants from upper-middle income or higher-income countries (including the UK) are eligible.
As with the full scholarship, the 35% fee scholarships are limited and will be awarded on a rolling basis, so early application is advised.
