- Students registered with Student Accessibility & Achievement may still be eligible for financial aid even if they are pursuing a reduced course load.

Application Process
- Acceptance Notification:
- Once you receive a notification of acceptance to McGill (either by formal letter or via the Admissions Status page on Minerva), the application for the bursary becomes available on Minerva.
- Application Steps:
- On Minerva:
- Select the Financial Aid/Awards tab.
- Go to Financial Aid Menu.
- Click on Apply for a McGill Entrance Bursary.
- Select Apply to Entrance Bursary Program.
- Complete and submit the application.
- CSS Financial Aid Profile:
- Submit this profile if you are a:
- Canadian (citizen or permanent resident) student living outside of Canada.
- U.S. student.
- International (non-U.S.) student.
- Submit this profile if you are a:
- For students with disabilities who need help completing the online application, assistance is available.
- On Minerva:
- When to Apply:
- Apply within 30 days from the date of formal acceptance as funding is limited and offered on a rolling basis until resources are exhausted.
- The application officially closes on June 30th.
Award Determination and Payment
- Award Amounts:
- Determined by the level of financial need relative to other applicants and the tuition fee rate based on the program of study and student residency.
- Decision Times:
- Award decisions start in February and continue on a rolling basis, 2-3 weeks from the date of application submission and/or documentation receipt.
- Decisions are posted on the Financial Aid/Awards tab on Minerva and followed by a formal letter.
- Payment Methods:
- Bursaries are credited to your student fee account in two equal installments at the start of the fall and winter terms.
- If your initial e-bill does not reflect your award, deduct the appropriate amount and pay the balance. For e-billing information, consult the Student Accounts website.
Renewal and Other Financial Aid Services
- Renewable Bursaries:
- A limited number of entrance bursaries are renewable for up to four years, provided the criteria for renewal (financial need and academic standing) are met.
- In-Course Financial Aid Program:
- Students can continue to receive assistance through this program in subsequent years.
Supporting Documentation and Deferrals
- Verification:
- Scholarships and Student Aid may verify the information provided on the application, and inconsistencies could lead to a reassessment or cancellation of the award.
- Deferrals:
- If you request and are granted an admission deferral to the winter semester, you may defer one half of your bursary offer for that semester.
- If deferring admission to the following fall semester, reapplication is required as available amounts vary each year.
