Scholarship Details:

Scholarships at Simon Diedong Dombo University. The West African Centre for Sustainable Rural Transformation (WAC-SRT) at Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (SDD-UBIDS) in Ghana, invites applications for admission and DAAD Scholarships for the MPhil Development Management and PhD Planning for Sustainable Development Programmes for the 2024/2025 Academic Year.

Programmes Offered:

• MPhil. Development Management: 2 years, Full Time
• PhD. Planning for Sustainable Development: 4 years, Full Time

Admission/Scholarship Requirements:

MPhil Development Management Programme:

• Academic Requirement: First degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division in a relevant field.
• Work Experience: Two years’ work experience in a relevant field.
• DAAD Scholarship Requirement: First degree with a minimum of Second Class Upper Division in a relevant field.
• Documentation: Submission of academic transcripts, certificates, and other relevant documents.
• Additional Documents: Submission of a motivation letter, updated Curriculum Vitae, and a research proposal (not more than 10 pages).

PhD Planning for Sustainable Development Programme:

• Academic Requirement: Very good MPhil/MSc/MA Degree in a relevant field.
• Research Experience: Two years’ research experience.
• DAAD Scholarship Requirement: Second degree with a minimum of Second Class Upper Division in a relevant field.
• Documentation: Submission of academic transcripts, certificates, and other relevant documents.
• Additional Documents: Submission of a motivation letter, updated Curriculum Vitae, and a research proposal (not more than 10 pages).

Application for Ghanaian Applicants:

Step 1: Payment

1. Make Payment:
   • Option 1: Pay GH¢180.00 at any Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB), Agricultural Development Bank (ADB), Stanbic Bank, and NIB Bank branches nationwide.
   • Option 2: Use mobile money service by dialing 8879# on all networks.
   • Option 3: Visit the UBIDS Online Admissions Portal and make an online payment of GH¢180.00 using a MasterCard or Visa.
2. Receive E-Voucher:
   • Obtain an E-Voucher containing the PIN and Serial Number required for completing the online form.

Step 2: Online Application

3. Access Online Form:
   • Visit the UBIDS Online Admissions Portal immediately after obtaining the E-Voucher.
4. Complete the Form:
   • Fill out the online form using the E-Voucher PIN and Serial Number.
   • Upload your most recent passport-size photograph (not more than 6 months old) and relevant certificates.
   • Thoroughly check all details before submitting the online form, as it cannot be edited once submitted.

Step 3: Document Submission

5. Print Application Summary:
   • Print out the application summary after completing the online form.
6. Attach Required Documents:
   • Attach results slips, certificates, and all other relevant documents.
   • Submit these documents in triplicates (three copies each).
7. Submission of Documents:
   • Ghanaian Applicants: Visit any Ghana Post EMS Office for assistance in returning the application documents. Do not post the forms yourself; use the services of Ghana Post EMS.
   • Foreign Applicants: Post three sets of the application documents by express mail.
