MTN Foundation Scholarship Program 2024 for Young Nigerian Students
The MTN Foundation Scholarship Program 2024 for Young Nigerian Students is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the 2024 MTN Foundation Scholarship Scheme. Established in 2010, the MTN Scholarships Program is an annual award designed to recognize and reward high-performing students in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions. The scholarships are categorized into three distinct groups:
- MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (MTN STS)
- MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (MTN SBS)
- Top 10 UTME Scholarship
MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (MTN STS)
Since its inception in 2010, the MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (MTN STS) has been available to eligible 300-level students pursuing Science and Technology-related courses in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education). Each year, 300 students are awarded scholarships that continue until graduation, provided they meet the required academic standards. Starting in 2024, the annual award amount has been increased from N200,000 to N300,000.
MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (MTN SBS)
Launched in 2012, the MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (MTN SBS) is aimed at eligible 200 and 300-level blind students studying any course in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions. In 2024, the number of scholarships awarded to blind students will increase from 60 to 100, with the annual award amount also increasing from N200,000 to N300,000, contingent upon maintaining the necessary grade requirements.
Top 10 UTME Scholarship
Introduced in 2020, the Top 10 UTME Scholarship automatically qualifies the top 10 scoring candidates in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) as announced by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). These candidates receive scholarships from their 100-level year through to graduation, as long as they meet grade requirements. Starting in 2024, the annual award amount will be raised from N200,000 to N300,000. This scholarship is awarded regardless of the candidates’ preferred course of study or the type of Nigerian Tertiary Institution—public or private.
