As a Fellow – Social Media and Web Management, you will play a pivotal role in shaping AAB’s online presence and engaging audiences across various digital channels. Job Summary: As the Social Media and Web Management Fellow, you will be responsible for enhancing ActionAid Bangladesh’s online presence and increasing engagement across various digital platforms. Working closely with the Communication Manager and team members, you will develop and execute social media content and manage the organization’s website to ensure a seamless user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Social Media Strategy and Coordination:
- Assist in developing and implementing social media strategies to boost AAB’s brand awareness and audience engagement.
- Generate creative content ideas for various social media platforms, including statics, graphics, videos, and interactive elements.
- Monitor social media platforms for trends and prepare monthly reports to track performance and engagement metrics.
Website Management Responsibilities:
As the Fellow – Social Media and Web Management at ActionAid Bangladesh, you will play a crucial role in managing the organization’s website. Your responsibilities will include:
- Content Upload:
- Provide support in uploading various types of content to the website, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Content Generation:
- Assist in generating engaging and informative content for the website, such as stories, articles, and updates, to attract and retain visitors.
- Content Update:
- Regularly update the website with fresh content, including news, events, publications, and other relevant information, to keep visitors informed and engaged.
- User-Friendly Website:
- Collaborate to ensure that the website is user-friendly and accessible to all users, including those with disabilities, by optimizing navigation, layout, and functionality.
- SEO Optimization:
- Support efforts to optimize the website for search engines (SEO) by incorporating relevant keywords, meta tags, and other SEO best practices to improve visibility and ranking in search results.
- Vendor Coordination:
- Coordinate with the website management vendor to address any technical issues, bugs, or performance issues promptly, ensuring the smooth functioning of the website.
- Work closely with the vendor to implement updates, enhancements, and new features to enhance the user experience and meet organizational objectives.
By effectively managing the organization’s website, you will contribute to enhancing ActionAid Bangladesh’s online presence, attracting visitors, and effectively communicating its mission, values, and impact to a wider audience.

- Education:
- Graduated from communications or a related field from any educational institution.
- A solid educational background in communication or a related field is essential to understand the principles and strategies of effective communication, especially in the digital realm.
- Understanding of Digital Platforms and Content Creation:
- Demonstrated understanding of digital platforms and content creation is crucial for effectively managing social media channels and website content.
- Familiarity with various social media platforms, website management tools, and content creation software is highly desirable.
- Communication and Collaboration Skills:
- Good communication and collaboration skills are essential to work effectively with team members, stakeholders, and external partners.
- The ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, is important for successful collaboration and coordination.
- Excellent Writing Skills in Both Bangla and English:
- Proficiency in both Bangla and English languages is necessary for creating content that resonates with diverse audiences in Bangladesh.
- Excellent writing skills, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation, are required to craft compelling and error-free content for social media posts, website articles, and other communications materials.
- Experience:
- At least 1 year of working experience in national or international organizations is preferred.
- Prior experience in social media management, website content management, or related fields will be advantageous.
- Experience in implementing digital communication strategies, creating engaging content, and analyzing social media metrics will strengthen your candidacy.

Relationships: As the Fellow – Social Media and Web Management, you will report to the Manager – Communication.
- Excellent Knowledge of Social Media and Digital Platforms:
- A deep understanding of social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc., is essential.
- Proficiency in navigating digital platforms and staying updated with emerging trends and best practices in social media management is crucial.
- Proficiency in Content Creation, Social Media Campaigns, Website Management, Fundraising, and Content Boosting:
- Demonstrated proficiency in content creation across various formats, including text, images, graphics, and videos, is necessary.
- Experience in planning and executing social media campaigns to drive engagement, increase followership, and raise awareness about organizational goals.
- Ability to manage website content effectively, ensuring regular updates, and maintaining a user-friendly interface.
- Understanding of fundraising principles and experience in leveraging digital platforms for fundraising activities.
- Knowledge of content boosting techniques to amplify the reach and impact of social media posts and website content.
- Basic Graphic Design and Video Editing Skills:
- Proficiency in basic graphic design tools such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or Illustrator for creating visually appealing graphics and images.
- Basic video editing skills using software like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or online video editing platforms.
- Basic Content/Copywriting Skills:
- Basic proficiency in content and copywriting to craft compelling messages, captions, and website copy.
- Ability to tailor content to different platforms and target audiences while maintaining consistency in brand voice and messaging.
