Eligibility Criteria: The eligibility criteria for the DAFI Scholarship Programme are designed to ensure that deserving refugee students have the opportunity to access higher education. To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Refugee Status: Applicants must be currently living as refugees in Uganda and be officially registered with both OPM Uganda and UNHCR-Uganda.
- Age Requirement: Candidates must be between 18-35 years old as of 1st January 2024, with birth dates falling between 1st January 1989 and 1st January 2006.
- Educational Background: Applicants should have successfully completed secondary school and possess their official original pass slips or equivalent qualifications, such as Diploma d’etat, university diplomas, or higher education access certificates (if applicable), at the time of application.
- Technical and Vocational Training: Those with recognized DIT Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) certificates will be considered for TVET courses.
- English Proficiency: Basic English training, including oral and written competence, is required for successful participation in the programme.
- Financial Need: Candidates should face financial barriers to accessing or completing undergraduate post-secondary education.
