Organized by Global Changemakers, this summit represents a pivotal moment for youth from diverse backgrounds to come together, exchange ideas, and catalyze positive change.
A Confluence of Ideas and Inspiration: More than just a conference, the Global Youth Summit 2024 promises to be a melting pot of creativity, innovation, and collaboration. We welcome Changemakers aged 21-29, regardless of geographical location, to apply and become part of an enriching experience focused on skill-building, networking, and capacity development. Unlocking Opportunities: By participating in the Global Youth Summit 2024, attendees will gain access to an extensive network of over 1300 changemakers worldwide. Additionally, they will have the chance to secure grant funding to support the implementation of their impactful projects, thereby amplifying their impact and contributing to positive societal change.
In-depth FAQ Insights:
- Comprehensive Coverage: Global Changemakers will cover flight expenses for selected participants traveling from outside South Africa, in addition to providing transport, accommodation, and meals throughout the summit. Participants already within South Africa will have their transport to the venue covered, along with other related expenses.
- Excluded Expenses: While Global Changemakers will provide supporting invitation documents, participants requiring a visa for South Africa must arrange and cover the associated costs. Additionally, participants are responsible for arranging travel to their country’s main airport and obtaining health and accident insurance for the summit’s duration.
- Application Fee Benefits: Although the application fee is nonrefundable, unsuccessful applicants will receive a discount code to access Global Changemakers’ Project Management for Changemakers course for free. Completion of the course not only equips applicants with essential skills for community impact but also makes them eligible for grant funding.
- Language Proficiency: As all summit sessions will be conducted in English, proficiency in the language is essential. English proficiency will be assessed through the application video and, for candidates advancing to the final round, through an interview.
- Age Eligibility: Applicants must be at least 21 years old at the time of the summit. Those who will turn 21 before October 21, 2003, are eligible to apply.
- Diverse Representation: While striving for geographic and gender diversity, there are no specific quotas for participants from each country. The Global Changemakers network celebrates diversity across nationalities, backgrounds, and areas of expertise, welcoming all youth committed to driving positive change.
