General Eligibility for Internships in the USA
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
- Possession of a passport with a minimum validity of 6 months beyond the planned end date of the internship is required.
- Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled at a degree-granting post-secondary academic institution outside the USA.
- Graduated from a degree-granting post-secondary academic institution outside the USA within the last 12 months.
- Hold a degree from a post-secondary academic institution outside the USA along with at least 1 year of relevant work experience outside the USA.
- Have at least 5 years of relevant work experience outside the USA.
- Online or part-time degrees are not eligible.
- The internship must align with the applicant’s degree or full-time employment.
- Applicants must demonstrate sufficient financial means (at least USD 1500, or equivalent, per month of intended stay in the US) at the time of application.
- Evidence must be provided to assure that the applicant will not overstay in the USA following the internship.
- US nationals, US Green Card holders, and F1 visa holders are exempt from visa requirements.
Visa Rules:
- The process begins with obtaining sponsorship from an authorized US visa sponsor, followed by securing a visa from the US Embassy. This process typically requires a minimum of 6 weeks.
- Visa costs range from USD 1200 to 2500, depending on program duration and other factors. It’s important to note that The Intern Group’s program fee does not cover government costs or other associated expenses related to visa applications.
- The visa is initially valid for 30 days and extends for the duration of the program upon arrival.
