Scholarships from Jönköping University

Jönköping University (JU) extends a limited number of scholarships to students who pay tuition fees and meet the scholarship requirements, ensuring they are equipped to successfully complete their studies. Please refer to the JU Scholarship Terms and Conditions document for detailed information.

The scholarship award amounts to 30% of the tuition fee for the program to which the student has been admitted.

Application Process

The online scholarship application for programs commencing in Autumn 2024 will be open from October 16, 2023, to April 15, 2024with a possibility of extension.

Scholarships are granted based on academic merit, with a strong focus on academic excellence. They provide partial coverage of the tuition fees for both bachelor’s and master’s programs.

Application Criteria for JU Scholarship

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:

  1. Citizenship: Applicants must be citizens of countries that are required to pay tuition fees in Sweden. Note: residency in the country of citizenship at the time of application submission is not required.
  2. Tuition Fees: Applicants must be required to pay tuition fees for studies at Jönköping University.
  3. Program Selection: Applicants must have selected a program at Jönköping University as their first choice when applying via the national university admissions system or have applied directly through Jönköping University’s local admission system.
  4. Program Level: Applicants must have applied to a bachelor or master level program offered on-site at Jönköping University by the scholarship application deadline.
  5. Submission: Applicants must submit a complete scholarship application by the specified deadline.

Additional Information:

  • Applicants who have applied to a program but have not yet received an offer may still submit a scholarship application by the deadline.
  • Recipients of the JU scholarship cannot combine it with scholarships offered through agreements between JU and other organizations, such as FIDERH and FUNED in Mexico, and COLFUTURO in Colombia. However, they may still be eligible for financial support from these organizations.

Filling in the Scholarship Application Form:

  • Applications for JU Scholarship are only considered valid when submitted using the online form provided.
  • All information entered in the scholarship application form must be verifiable by the documentation submitted during the application process.
  • Scholarship applications will be processed only after the corresponding program application has been completed, and all required documents have been submitted.

Required Information for the Application:

  • Study Application Number: The application number generated when submitting the application to a study program.
  • Letter of Recommendation: One or maximum two letters of recommendation, for example, from a former teacher or employer.
  • Individual Statement: A statement (maximum 200 words) detailing educational experience and career plans.
  • Email Address: The email address provided should match the one used in the application for studies at Jönköping University.
